Nestled in the lush countrside just south of San Antonio, Bare Back Ranch is
a small farm dedicated to raising exceptionally bred appaloosas with color
and stamina to perform, whether in pasture, along the trail or in the show
ring. We believe in the all around appaloosa.
At Bare Back Ranch Appaloosas, we strive to raise appaloosas with some of
the most sought after bloodlines, such as The Executive, Dreamfinder, Goer,
Plaudit, and many more. Our horses exemplify the appaloosa breed with their
conformation, disposition, color, and athleticism.
It is here that some exceptional individuals may be found. We always have a
few for sale, including one or two broodmares, ranch prospects, and show
prospects. So please feel free to inquire about our apps. If we don't
have what you are looking for listed on the site just ask and we may be able
to help. Since we are a small farm, we are able to dedicate more time and
energy to each individual horse and to raising our appaloosas with the best
care, devotion, and love they deserve.
Some of the best memories as a child are of those riding my appaloosa mare
bare back every day after school. I remember what it was like to save my
pennies, nickels, and dimes in order to buy her. She wasn't broke and she
had been neglected to the point where she wasn't very trusting. But one
thing was certain about my little appaloosa mare, she was a quick learner
and gave me her all. Over the next few years, she would become a fine
cutting horse and penner and could turn around a barrel like she was born
to. I still have that little mare to this day.
Lasting memories such as these are what keep the appaloosa breed close to my
heart. They are a breed rich in history. As an appaloosa enthusiast and
breeder, I hope to promote the breed through public trail rides, parades,
and shows.
